- 군대에서 첫 휴가를 나오면서 사가지고 들어갔던 책. 크기도 작고 내용도 부담이 없어서 편하게 즐길 수 있었던 책이었다. 조금은 명상하는 듯한 마음가짐으로 읽었던 기억이다.
Joy – the stream of joy which must be felt.
Touch, Sight – “Ah” just that. what a wonderful word that is.
Wonder – intouchness.
Realization, Intuition – from wonder must come Realization. We must learn to honor the mind of one within whom lodges the spirit.
Order - ‘Order is’
Silence and Light – Silence, the unmeasurable, desire to be, desire to express, the source of new need, meets Light, the measurable, giver of all presence, by will, by law, the measure of things already made, at a threshold which is inspiration, the sanctuary of art, the treasury of shadow.
Light - So light is really the source of all being.
Making something – Therein lies the beauty of pple, within whom the greatest completeness of an odyssey of their making exists, beautiful so many ways
Form and Design – Form is “what’ Design is “how” 디자인은 형태에 특정한 형상과 재료를 부여하며, 그 형태를 주변 환경의 세계로 가져간다. 형태는 비개인적인것으로 건물에 속하지만, 디자인은 건축가에 속한다.
Space – Space has tonality.
Structure – Structure is the giver of light.
The Garden and the Room – the garden is a personal gathering of nature, and the room is the beginning of architecture.
Materials – What do you want, brick?
we should honor its character.
The wall, the column – Consider also the momentous event in architure when the wall parted and the column became. (질서의 증여자인 “기둥의 장소”)
Institutions
City – the measure of city’s greatness as a place to live must come from the character of its institutions, sanctioned by their sensitivity to desire for new agreement, not by need, because need comes from what already is.
The street – the street must have come the meeting house, also a place by agreement.
Without light there is no architecture
Existence-will – 사물이 시간이전부터 가지고 있는 성질(Volume Zero)
질서에 대한 칸의 개념은 노자의 道와 비슷하다.
말로 표상해 낼 수 있는 道는 항구불변한 본연의 道가 아니고, 이름지어 부를 수 있는 이름은 참다운 실재의 이름이 아니다. 無는 天地의 시초이고 有는 萬物의 근원이다. 無에서 오묘한 道의 본체를 보고, 有에서 광대무변한 道의 운용을 살핀다. (침묵-無, 빛-有)
Desire and Need(바램과 요구) – 요구는 충족되어야 한다. 그러나 바램은 요구보다 더 중요하다. 요구를 충족시키는 것만으로는 혜택을 줄 수 없다. 건축가는 바램도 충족시켜야 한다.
